1. How much do the classes cost?
Please see our fees & policies page for full details.
2. When do classes start?
Please see our class timetable for full details of class dates and times.
3. What do the members wear at the classes?
Track suit bottom and a t-shirt will be good enough to start. However, once you decide to continue training at our academy, you are asked to purchase the official uniform for training. You can get them from the academy. The official uniform must be worn for the grading. It usually takes 3-4 months to do the first grading after joining. So, please make sure that you let us know in advance if you would like to get a uniform.
4. What age do you take from?
We can take from 4years old. However, it totally depends on their ability and confidence level to join the class and follow the tasks. We suggest parents to bring their kids for the FREE trial session (usually the first class) in order to check if he/she is able for the class.
5. How are the classes run?
The children’s classes are formed based on their belt levels. For WHD classes, there are 3 children’s classes on Tue, Thu & Fri. First class (5-6pm) is for beginners and yellow belt holders. Second class (6-7pm) is for green belt holders. Third class (7-8pm) is for blue and higher belt holders. For HDGD classes, there are 2 children’s classes on Wed. First class (6-7pm) is for beginners. Second class (7-8pm) is for all colour belts.
When they change their belt colour, they move on to the next class. It is very important to come to the right class in order to progress properly. For the low belt WHD classes, there will be 3-5 assistants in the classes to help out children. All teens and adults members train together at 8pm. Master Kim will run all the classes. In the event of Master Kim’s absence, one of black belt instructors will be responsible to run the classes with assistants. Please see the weekly class timetable for details.
6. Can I come more than one class per week?
There are two different membership options. If you choose Standard membership, you can only come once a week. However, if you choose Premium membership option, you can come as many days as you want. The weekly classes are run from Tuesday to Friday. You can attend maximum one class per day. There is also a Kick boxing style Class on Sunday from 3 to 5pm for 2 hours. If you are a premium member, you can attend this class with no extra charge. Please see our membership option page for details.
7. Do you have child protection policy?
Our qualified child protection officer will be in and out all the children’s classes to ensure that our child protection policy is taking place in the class properly. All instructors are continuously educated by her to improve their awareness and importance of the child protection policy. When our black belt instructors become 18years old, they are asked to attend the child protection course which is run by Meath Local Sports Partnership.
8. Do you do private lessons?
Master Kim runs semi-private lessons at the weekend by appointment. There must be minimum 4 and maximum 6 people pre-booked in order to run the class. This is especially for those members who need extra help. The class duration is 1 hour and the fee is €15 per child and €20 per adult. No private lessons for non-member.
